Course Information

This training has evolved from Non Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) and is now the annual compulsory training of SA Health.

Course Objectives

The programme delivers a solid foundation based on the philosophy of providing the best Care, Welfare, Safety, and SecuritySM for staff and those in your care that:

  • Focuses on prevention, deceleration and avoidance.
  • Addresses the risks of physical interventions.
  • Teaches safe, non-harmful interventions.
  • Offers proven post-incident strategies to prevent future crises

Eligibility / Entry Requirements

This program is a mandatory requirement for all staff.

Training Location

Please note all 2017 Lyell McEwin Health Service MAPA training programs will be held in training rooms 2E07 and 2E14 located on the second level, first floor near the library unless alternate training rooms are identified.
